A SOCIAL media 'influencer' who posts about her disability is to compete in a high-stakes quiz show where she could win thousands of pounds.

Ella Middleton, 23, from Maldon will appear on Channel 4 big-money gameshow Moneybags next week.

She has a rare muscle and nerve condition called dystonia, but has now gained more than 1.2 million followers from posting about her disability on TikTok.

She started during lockdown and has continued to post content which focuses on breaking barriers around disability.

On the show, there is £1million passing down the conveyor belt each week and the contestants must grab as much as possible.

She hopes to buy an adapted home and get a new motorised wheelchair if she wins big money on the show.

Ella has already filmed the show, however viewers won't know the result until they have watched it.

Ella said: “I loved it. Everyone was lovely and I made such amazing friends. I had the best three days up in Manchester and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.”

After having to answer general knowledge questions on the show, she said: “Anything to do with countries is not a vibe. I thought Liverpool was abroad!”

The episode will be on Monday 22nd August at 5pm on Channel 4.
